Rosslyn Chapel

The Rosslyn Chapel has been on our bucket list for the longest time. A beautiful chapel founded in the 15th century by the Sinclair family. Pictures were not allowed inside, but the stonework was stunning, and very feminine in nature. So many flowers. Interestingly, Maize is also carved into the chapel, surrounding a window. Maize is Native to North America and the chapel was created before Columbus set foot on North American soil.

The folklore surrounding the Rosslyn Chapel is what captivated us the most. The Scots say Mary Magdalene and the Holy Grail are buried in the crypt of the chapel. This theory is so beloved that Dan Brown wrote The DaVinci Code saga around it.

Over the sea to SKYE!
